Accenture
Accenture, the preeminent technology consulting company, was born out of Arthur Andersen in the 1950s, separating in 1989, before going public in 2001. Accenture’s purpose is to create, innovate and unlock value for its approximately 9000 clients, spanning primarily large enterprises, governments and government agencies across 120 countries. Its clients view Accenture as an essential ‘helping hand’, guiding them through unfamiliar but important business change, and if necessary, providing a highly credible, highly paid external helper to redirect blame. In either case, its services have become both mission-critical and highly lucrative. For example: in fiscal 2026, on sales of $74.2 billion, Accenture returned a record $11.5 billion to shareholders, including recently raising its dividend another 5% on top of its 2025 10% increase. Moreover, having boosted its AI and data professionals to 110,000 out of its total 814,000 employees, and with forward bookings already up to $84.5 billion, Accenture believes it will continue to be an indispensable asset in helping clients transition into an AI world, thereby setting the stage for a likely extension of its impressive 20-year dividend record.
