The DivGro Weekly—17.07.26

220 Consecutive dividend increases

Weekly Dividend Progress

This week we received further real-time, tangible evidence of outstanding business progress when we became entitled to our quarterly dividends from Abbott, Accenture, Intuit and Mastercard, all meaningfully higher than this time last year.

How We Are Tracking

Since DivGro's inception we have predicted and benefited from 220 consecutive dividend increases across our portfolio companies, with no decreases. The average rate of these dividend increases is 13.9%.

Distribution

Next week, we will pay our 27th consecutive quarterly distribution. Notably, this distribution is 12.9% higher than the same time last year. DivGro has grown its distributions each year by at least a double-digit percentage increase. Our quarterly distribution is already 3x higher than our first quarterly distribution paid in January 2020.

Abbott

Abbott, our medical devices and healthcare behemoth, pioneered the concept of doing well by doing good. Since 1888, the company has finessed its ‘Abbott Way’: the business model it conceived to solve important healthcare needs in fast-growing segments, where it expects to be the apex leader in the marketplace. On occasion, this has called for Abbott to meaningfully adjust its portfolio; either selling highly successful businesses or acquiring new ones, including its purchase of St Jude Medical and more recently, Exact Sciences, an emerging leader in cancer detection methodologies. This approach has served generations of Abbott investors extremely well; Abbott has paid uninterrupted dividends for more than a century and sustained consecutive increases for the last 54 years, propelling the stock price alongside. Abbott believes it helps circa two billion people lead fuller, healthier lives, putting it firmly on track towards its 2030 ambition of helping one in every three people globally with their health — and precipitating a likely extension of its formidable dividend growth record into the future.
